I have a fridge with a front mount filter (PureSource2 filtration system) that is inside the fridge. It filters the water and ice, and supposedly you change it every 6-9 months. Well I have had the fridge for 7 months and am on my 2nd filter. When I took it out yesterday it was full of brown, yucky slime! It was so gooped up the water would hardly come out of the dispenser. Now, I'm not complaining about having to change the filter so often - I'm just way glad that I am getting this nasty stuff out of my drinking water. It was so gross! Worse than the nastiest tank you have ever seen!
Moral of the story - don't drink the tap water!
