Tonight, a couple of my friends and I traveled out to Houston to the Verizon Wireless Theater and moshed ourselves retarded with God Forbid, Municipal Waste, Children of Bodom, As I Lay Dying, and of course

LAMB OF GOD!!!

It was incredible. I've seen most of these bands as least twice and it keeps getting better every single time i see em. After the brutality ended, we walked around to the back and met a few of the guys in the bands. Even though it was pouring outside, i couldnt have had a better night!!! I did not listen to any after the first. God fobid was a tribute to our fallen heros. super cool makes me think of my son in Iraq. How old are you Rex. when he gets back on leave in August I need you to take him to a concert. Thats his music. He had a band called deadtexas. He's out grown all his dead beat friends.

i think when you reach a certain age it's not possible to know what they are saying or if there is a message included in their music....i think they have a certain passion for what they do....but i'm not sure about what it is they are doing?...
i'm more of a "Rage against the Machine" girl myself.........)

Yo FshFrk, I am 26 years old, but i only act half of that most of the time. Anyway, i would love to go to a concert with your son. Tell him to look me up when he gets home and we'll go mosh it up together.

And Steve...of course they have a message. Most of the bands are very angry and aggressive. I mean, look and the crap my generation is growing up around...I'm suprised you're not angry too. It takes a while to understand what they're saying but when you go read the lyrics you'll be like "its so clear now"

Angry and Aggressive ....yeah, that's about how I see it.

I do recognize the musical talent displayed by the angry young artists, but when it comes right down to it, I see them as messengers of hostility and kaos.

I - just don't believe you can fix a problem, by trying to emulate the lord of the underworld, no matter how tight your rhythm is.

We all live in a country where we have the right to express ourselves, but IMHO, this manner of expression will not get their message out to the masses, it only succede in expanding the aggression amonst this younger generation.

But if you liked it...hey, more power to you my young friend....
