I think I'd pay someone to get rid of mine! Got a few plants for the discus tank, got a few snails (which I didn't mind) and then by the end of the week it was like a horror movie. I've been invaded. I don't want clown loaches (too big) but need something to clear it up.
I don't get it, why everybody so complains on the MTS. I have them in my tank for 2 years now and I love them. My plants grow very well, I don't do water changes just top it off with RO water. MTS live exclusively in the substrate, don't see them on plants or glass. They do a good job feeding on the mulm and moving the substrate. Yes, there are hundreds or maybe thousands of them but they don't do any harm to my plats or any other habitants.
I might be wrong but I think guys who complains have those no plants tanks with often water changes, and no mulm. That is probably why MTS get out of the substrate and cover everything looking for food.
This is just my two cents.

I agree. :) And you're right, in my experience. Those that hate them are those with non-planted tanks. It seems that in planted tanks, they keep a low profile and are quite beneficial. But in those "other" tanks, they reproduce like CRAZY and start to clog up filters and such.
