Artest became a unrestricted free agent on Thursday, and he talked to Cleveland and the Lakers.. Lakers took him. Ariza same thing, but he choose to come to Houston when the Lakers didnt want to resign him. Artest wanted to go to a team that was going to put a ring on his finger, and he felt the Lakers where going to be able to do this vs Houston

i say good ridance to yao. yao is a backup center any where else but houston and has never made it through a whole season without a injury the same goes for mcgrady he has been injury proned through his whole stint with the rockets and as far as artest goes he was the enforcer that houston has needed for a long time but now i guess lakes now have that factor that made the bulls great. kobe/ artest is the next jordan/ rodman i think they have made themselves a lock next seasonComment

Artest is going to screw things up for them. Ariza will be good he just needs the opportunity to develop which Phil never had any belief of training guys because he always coached at places that had proven players. I think the rockets should trade the house and rebuild anyways. And Yao would be the starter on all 30 NBA teams. Over his NBA career he averages 19 points 9 boards and 2 block shots a game and his FG% is over 52. Which puts him among the best centers to play the game.Comment

yao is the best center in the NBA. The game is about match-up. Match yao up with any other REAL center and he will school them.
And the idea that "kobe/ artest is the next jordan/ rodman" is a joke. Rodmen scored an average of 5.5 points and 14.9 rebounds per game under Jackson. Those numbers and their respective position doesn't even drew a reasonable comparison. Ron is not going to the lakers and playing power forward.....I ate my fish that died.

Its my belief that yao should come back to Houston to play again, but as it stands there is a good chance it will not be in the 09-10 season. Daryl Morey needs to tell the Chinese international basketball Organization that Yao can no longer play for the Chinese until his career with the NBA is done with. Reason is that as soon as the NBA season is over with he travels to China and plays there until the season starts again for the NBA and therefore never rests.
A big man like Yao needs rest to heal, but the Chinese believe that is not needed. He is a god and has no injury that needs to be tended to. See Olympics 2008 to see what I mean. If he had not done the Olympics, he would have had time to heal the last injury and he would have been in a much better position now.
