    Any Harley/Big Twin Mechanics?

    replacing the points ignition with electronic ignition and replacing cam gear cover. Anyone here have experience? I'll pay for your time and buy the beer.

    I pretty much just don't wan't to screw things up :)

    i have a friend who has a shop in deer park... he is a cert harley mechanic...he is fair and a good dude...ps what are you riding.....i have a 83shovelhead and a 08 fatbob...

      I really want to do the work myself and want to learn all the ins and outs. I just really wanted someone to keep me from doing anything too stupid.

          thats what i am talking about... a rigid...big inch motor..i had a 70 shovel in a 48 wishbone frame that my dad and i rebuilt from ground up...i still fill that rigids are the only way to go... you are one with the road...ps rode to sturgis is 98 on it....ps ditch the apes and put on some drag bars...alot better riding postion...

            :) Yeah, I shopped around a lot and agree. I love the look sna feel of the rigid frame. I was planning to get Drag Bars as well. I just wanted to ride with both to see what feels best but as I am sure you know, it will always be changing.

            Plan is...

            More chrome
            Electronic ingnition
            turn down drag pipes (chrome)
            custom paint
            drag bars
            maybe turn signals (maybe)
            extend forward controls

                Very nice. We're shopping for a bike for girlgeek. I feel an HFB ride coming in the future :)

                      I think that might be a little heavy of a bike for her, but might make a good second bike for me :)

                        this bike is perfect for a woman or a man...for what i could sell this for it would be hard to get a new bike... this bike would be great for a woman or a man... my sister is 5 1 and she fits on the bike ok....i can promise you this if you buy a sporster you will be upgrading to big twin...
