Thanks for sharing! :)
So, who's parrot(s) listens to the native birds outside? It took me about 7 years, but I finally figured out that Matsi couldn't care less about the birds outside and what they're saying. Lol. When I lived in a house in Florida, I would take her out on the screened-in porch every once in a while, and I always ask her what they're saying whenever I hear birds calling outside my apartment. But the last time I asked her, she kinda looked at me like, "What? Who the heck are you talking about?" I think if she had words to say about it, she would have said, "I speak English, woman! Geez! How should I know what they're saying?!" :) :)"Millennium hand and shrimp!"

Can they stand the Houston weather If I leave them outside. My aunt gave me one of her large parrot cage. It use to house one of those parrot that's white with some yellow feathers on top of its head cockatoo or something. Well she only has one parrot left, and he's pretty old. She is giving me the other cage. I don't have room to leave it in the house so I'm putting it in my backyard. The patio is cover so it does provide some shading, but I'm worried that it might be to hot for a parrot. So far I'm thinking of getting a African gray parrot or a cockatoo (not sure of spelling). Do you guys recommending leaving them outside?180 gallon RR wild discus, harlequins, congos, rainbow, pleco, cardinals, rummynose, rcs, and amanos.  2260 eheim pressurize co2 4x54 tek lights

I wouldn't recommend it being outside. Not necessarily for the heat or oncoming cold, which wouldn't be good anyway, but because you can't leave a parrot alone outside in hopes that it will find stimulation, interaction, and companionship with its own thoughts. They really need this social aspect in their lives, as much as a healthy diet, to survive."Millennium hand and shrimp!"

At first I was alarmed because it seemed that a few of the birds had escaped and were hanging around on the outside of the enclosure. But when I asked, I found out that these were birds that had been rehabilitated and re-released into the wild, and would come by daily to say hello to their friends and to get a little snack. :) Needless to say, I donated some money to UWEC (the zoo) in order to sponsor the Greys. :)
