My male texas cichlid is attacking my female tx.cichlid.. Dont know why? Up until a few days ago he started acting like that. They have had some fry before, but can anyone tell me why he is acting this way? Thanks.

Think the male is trying to mate with her again and she doesn't want to.

I have a 55 gal. Tank, and the male is 4-5 inchs. And the female is about 3-4.. He chases her around and beats her up pretty bad... Its been about 2-3 months since they last had fry..

You are correct, the female is not ready again yet. I breed flowerhorn and the male chase the female around after the second week after mating. Therefore dividers is needed to separate them during this time or small caves/pots that the female can hide and the male cant get to her.
