This reminds me of the "new language" that has developed for text messaging.
I sometimes have to call my daughter just to get the translation of the message she sent - I wish she would just call to begin with. I even found a website that has a text messaging dictionary and online translator for those of us needing extra help. I think it is fascinating to consider how quickly language can adapt to new forces in our culture - sociological, industrial, or technological.
