My susanqua camellias (SC) looked like they were making a few seeds over the years. Today I saw a 3/4" green/brown ball on the ground - a ripe SC seed pod . So I crawled under the bushes to collect them. I only found only a dozen seed pods; But then noticed at least a dozen seedlings, up to 10" tall. Sort of like I am a father. I have rooted SC (and japonica)cuttings before but these seedlings could be new varietys. Probably even better than finding young zebra danios, koi, sliders or cooders in my pond.
The mothers are setsegeko (sp) , the only camillia with perfume.
In 5 yr I could have blooms and see what they look like.
