Many of our troops do not get packages or mail. It’s a long way from home, friends & family. They don’t know how much we appreciate their service. If you know someone over there or even if you don’t, consider making their day by sending a Thank-you Card and a small gift. Now is the time to plan a Christmas / Thank you package to our servicemen & Women. It takes 3 weeks + to get a package there.
Suggested package contents: candy, gum, cookies, powdered drink mix, microwave meals, meal kits, packaged pastas, snack mixes, beef jerky, boxed fruit (raisins), toiletries of all kinds, magazines, paper back books (check the used book racks at your book store (Many for 50 cents each), crossword books, DVDs and cads (used or sale rack ok), games, decks of cards, dominoes, writing materials, stamps, Thanksgiving or Christmas items, or anything you think they would like while far away from home and loved ones especially during holiday times.
It is possible that many of them think we have forgotten them and this would be a great way to show that you care. You or your organization can buy a prepaid box at the post office - small (for an individual) $ 2.79 and large (for an organization) $5.59
Or order free flat rate boxes online at https://shop.usps.com/
Be sure to include a note or thank you card (for their service) and tell them who you are or who/what your organization is and include a return address. I would also appreciate it if you could forward this to anyone that you think might also consider sending a package. Be sure to make a list of what you put in the box, as you will have to fill out a customs' form when you go to the post office to mail the package. PS Form 2976-A
Send one to all the servicemen & women you know and a few extra for them to pass on to their buddies who need a little cheering up.
If you don’t know anyone serving just send them to my Sister’s Daughter’s Husband and he will disburse your contents to those at his post.
Address it to: Phillip Sinclair
