  • Fishing and cold weather

In the early 80s the surf froze and we were netting huge speckled trout out of the bay with almost no effort. I hope we don't get back to that this winter. The trout took several years to recover their numbers.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I live like 10miles from the Trinity River...of coarse I have a fishing license!!! Isnt that a staple to every mans wallet here in Texas?

I bought a new space heater for my fishroom. Its an old garage and not exactly air tight. But, all it needs is a little help.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

What do you think the flounder fishing will be like @ Sea Wolf park tomorrow afternoon? Would like to get one more good day of wade fishing in now that were back to a 5 fish limit. Have only caught 4 this year and I'm bumming. Thanks.

Dunno, Dan. The wind will be screaming out of the north all day. The bay's gonna look like chocolate milk. It may settle down by tomorrow but I think Sunday will be better. Tide should be way low after this front blows in.

I agree. Cold weather is also going to push the fish to deeper waters as well.

What a change from last week We were in Trinity bay last Friday. Limited on Trout and caught a couple of nice reds.

              Thanks
