Sounds like the best plan.

In general, sometimes you have to run the spyware remover in safe mode. Also check your startup menu in your programs folder and make sure nothing got added to it. Most spyware removers take a couple of trys.

If nothing else works, try to ID the specific popups (company, etc) and Google it. You will usually find the manual steps required to remove the malware.

If everything fails, give me a holler and I'll come over and check it out.
