Cushing suspended for violating NFL policy on PEDs

The NFL has suspended Texans outside linebacker Brian Cushing four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.


"We're disappointed to learn that Brian has been suspended," Texans general manager Rick Smith said. "Brian is a productive member of our team, this is a big loss. We have to prepare to win without him."



Cushing will be eligible to return to the Texans' active roster on Oct. 4. He will miss games against the Colts, Redskins, Cowboys and Raiders.
