  • Cruise to Cozumel

Anyone ever been? What are things to do? I was suppose to go 2 months ago but the person I was going to go with backed out. Recently, I have been thinking about it again but I just don't have the guts to commit to it because I will be going by myself. I don't know if I will have fun going by myself. Anyone want to go with me? lol. I thought about a last minute trip leaving next sunday but that doesn't give me much time to prepare. I also thought about leaving late august and maybe getting certified to scuba dive. I really want to see the reefs. For sure I will take underwater pictures. The boat also stops at Progreso but I hear that Cozumel is the place to be. The only thing I hate about the cruise is that you're only 8-10 hours at each destination. I also don't know I will react on being on a big boat.

we did a cruise to Cozumel two summers ago...IT was AWESOME!!! To be honest...the boat itself was the best part of the vacation. We only stopped in Cozumel and while there we went on the Snorkeling expedition which also took us to a private beach. On the way to the private beach we were on a booze cruise so I was completely HAMMERED by the time we reached the sand. Be careful, the water is REALLY salty and will cause you to throwup very quickly...I did!!! Once back in Cozumel we went straight to Senior Frogs and drank some more. It is so cheap to get drunk. Then we went shopping down the strip were store owners will ask if you want a free shot of Tequila while looking around in their store. I looked at a LOT of stores! I say go for it. Going alone shouldnt be a problem...the boat is packed full of singles. Have fun...take pics.

I been there. It was only OK for me.

      Too touristy for my taste.

What you bought the tickets already? You should go and have some fun. My cousin went there with my nephews before. I didn't go, but they said they had a blast. They also took a lot of pictures. The water is very clean. They said there were a bunch of thing to do on boat. You should have a blast. They went on a boat full of dentist though because their dad is a dentist. They have some kind of dentist meeting or something but a few tickets were free I guessed. You should definitely be more fun if you travel with other tourists.

I went and honestly have to say it sucked balls.

You can only do so much on the boat... everything has to be paid for, most of the trip is on the boat. When you stop in the destination spots you aren't really given enough time to unwind and relax so if you have a tour trip in mind that cosumes most of the day.

Senor Frogs is nice but that's more of a mainstream bar and if you want to go to another country to go to a bar then I guess that's your spot.

Cozumel's waters and sands aren't that great compared to some of the other Mexico spots I've been to but I guess it's better than Galveston.

If you plan to just go party just to say you partied then it's cool.

We went in Oct a couple years ago. Went with a group of friends so we had a lot of fun on the boat. At Cozumel we snorkled and shopped, some of our friends rented a jeep and ran around.

I think it all depends on what you like/want. We had a good time, but I wouldn't go on another cruise, but I have friends who go every year and love it!

No, I haven't bought the tickets yet. I need to turn my brain off for a minute and just do it. I want to go to relax and have fun. Not really party. Bars arent really my thing. I'll drink but not to the point where i'll get drunk. I'd like to sightsee mostly. It's been a tough year for me so i'd just like to do something like this to get things off my mind.

I think everyone should go on a cruse at least once.

                  It might be your thang.

Tip number 1: bring two bottles of liquor.

Water is free. But bottled water and soda...nope. They going to charge you up big time on drinks.

Personally, I would bring sodas and liquor. You will save a lot and have more to spend on the little planned trips they have.

I personally dont like cruises because I like to spend more than 8 hours at a destination. So we always go to places for a week. I like Cozumel it is touristy but it isnt as bad as Cancun and Playa del Carmen is a short boat ride away.

Playa del Carmen was the shizznit! water was much bluer and sand much softer!

I flew there and spent a week and it was awesome! Probably why my cancun and cozumel trips were a bust... they were shadowed by my Playa del Carmen trip.
