Ok, say they set the setpoint at 82 degrees, because they feel that is comfortable.. ok, Your unit is gonig to heat the rom until it gets to 82 degrees... most units have a 4 degree differential, which means that if the heating setpoint is 82, the cooling setpoint would be 86..


Now, if you put a light bulb that heated the sensor up to 90 degrees, the system would automatically cycle into cooling mode because it thought the room was 90 degrees...

Corporate doesn't say 'add heat" or "add cooling" they set a temperature to maintain and the unit goes from there :)
