This week we saw two of Houston's greatest players ever leave the team. I will admit that these were neccessary trades and feel the Oswalt trade ended well for us, but the Berkman deal was a waste. I have said many times that we needed to trade him, but now that it has happened...it hurts just a little bit. The Killer B's are no more. I will say "good luck" to both of the players and hope that both have great careers elsewhere. I hope we dont face Oswalt in the playoffs in years to come. I honestly saw Berkman retiring an Astro and the 17 to be hung from ceiling with the rest of the greats. Hopefully when he is done playing the team will still honor him for his service. Its hard for me to cheer for a team when I dont know any of the players out there. All Im saying is we better bring in some solid talent next year with all this open money now.

Aren't the Astros still on the hook for his contract for like $11 million over the next two seasons (or something like that)? That's just ridiculous.
I was fortunate enough to attend Roy Oswalt's last home start. . . I felt like it was a privilege to watch him pitch that game, especially since I'm from Michigan and a Tigers fan. Unfortunately, the stadium seemed pretty bare. I would have thought that with the trade rumors in full effect at the time, and everyone knowing he was going to be dealt, that people would have come out in droves just to see him in the Astros uniform one last time.Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )

Believe it or not, I have been a big fan of the Astro's over the years. For me, when Biggio retired I found myself less interested in the team. McClain has been marketing the sale of the Astro's for a few years now. I can only hope that with these trades it somehow makes the Astro's more attractive to potential buyers. Roy O and Berkman wanted out so they could go somewhere that actually have another shot at the World Series before the end of their career?
