      We have a few of those around at work, we used to at least. I haven't seen one this year, but we do have a bunch of Brown Widows.
      So many things can be a mystery, when all we're seeking is freedom...

          She is a beauty, they are great for a natural insect control and rarely move their web once they are established. The tiny little males look quite ridiculous comparatively, I imagine its like approaching a Titan.

            I like those too semper. thay are all over the place at my moms. i think they are called banana spiders??

              I've always called them Garden Spiders. They are cool because of how they put that zig-zag in their webs.

                  As we are posting pics, I'll post one of our Goliath. Sorry about the screen, but she can move fairly quickly and she has a nice pair of fangs I'd prefer to avoid meeting in person.

                    I really like spiders, and would've gone the "better jar than dead" route.
                    I only kill a spidder if I can't get it out of the area of my immediate living space...no bites allowed in my house.
