Aquarium of Pacific

The wife and I are going to Califorina to visit and plan to go to the Aquarium of the Pacifics in Long Beach. We are going to do the whole behind the scenes tour and all. Anyone been there? I went about 10 years ago and don't remember much. Any additional info about area would be cool. We are also going to San Diego Zoo.

I actually just went to that aquarium this summer. It was a pretty cool aquarium. Shark petting zoo is really cool and they have a bunch of really cool saltwater corals on display. Make sure to check out the breeding Sea Bass. That area of town(like 5 city blocks) is really nice, but the rest of Long Beach is pretty ghetto. If you take the train from downtown LA...it is fast, but you have to go through Compton, I didnt realize that till we were already there and I was the only white guy on the train!!! The San Diego Zoo is AMAZING...tank the tour bus, otherwise there is no way you will see it all. Obviously, I think the Panda's are the highlight of the zoo. The Navy yard is really cool to check out also...it is in the same part of town. If you have any other questions about the area let me know...I try and go visit family out there every summer if possible.
