  • Tip: Power Outage/Modern Gas Ranges

If your power is out and you have a gas range with electric start (sparkers), it will still work. Simply turn on the gas and light the burner with a lighter or match. This may sound self-explanitory to a lot of people, but you'd be surprised how many folks don't know this. This is for the top burners only; electric-start ovens either won't work or won't work properly without power.

If you live in Fort Bend Co., and you are warm, keep your local gas people in your thoughts and prayers. We will be onsite 24 hours to monitor city and neighborhood regulator stations and will manually operate them if needed to keep the gas flowing. I'm home for 4 hours of rest right now, but will be back at it at 1:00pm.

We live in Fort Bend County, but no natural gas. Propane! Propane is crap.
