It looks like the general flow is in your direction Tim. The reason I don't travel to fish stores is most of them are a good distance from my house. I don't want to drive far just to be disappointed (product, prices, service, etc.). Dealing with you, I know product, prices, and people are always on point. I would definitely make that drive. Make it happen!!!

If this happens I would like to see local shipping available.

I've shipped shrimps and snails to Pasadena, the Woodlands, and Katy this year. It turns out you aren't the only the only one who doesn't like Houston traffic!

I'm curious to see what those that have joined the box recently would do.

northwest area is in desperate need of a good fish/pet store. We have some mom and pop store but they're all horrible nothing up the rank of HAW, extreme, fish gallery, or unlimited, etc down southwest. We have only Aquarium world but that's still a bit further away toward the mid area of Houston.

Ok definitely cool thread Tim, yet to go thru and read it all. But yes the thought has crossed and iv been told ohh hell no many times and my mom wont let me open one from tue back bedroom of her house! But i have thought of a cool name
                    "Cichlids n Salt"
It'd be high quality store ran good with top quality fish ran by people who know their fish. No reptiles sry guys! Fish only , top fish at good prices and a staff in their A game. I wouldn't stock the basic u can get at petco or what not. Cause face it theirs so much we want when we really into the hobby u never can find. And another thought is having a late night day where u can come get fish at night if u wanted. Cause what stores stay open late when u really need something. Have like a night where were open till 10:00 pm As for location not sure , but i knoe iv met some very awesome people here in Houston and a staff of us would be a killer store to the market.

A great idea with doing fish store would be for the owner to buy fish from members here and actually pay cash for them instead of doing store credit like most stores do. It will help the members sell their livestock and keep everything local.

Some do actually buy from breeders. But if you're talking about just some random guy walks in with 10 fry then idk if that will cut it.

But a good place to open should be in the Katy area since we don't have fish stores out in that area. Petco and petsmart don't count.

Start off as a small store half salt and half fresh water. If the customer is looking for something particular and you don't have it you can always do special orders. Pricing is also a thing to look at also. Reasonably priced fish and dry goods will be a plus. Happy customer = happy owner

Nw side is also a good place. We don't have anything good over here but we've got a lot of hobbyists here. It would save a trip to sw side. I find myself always going to all the lfs in sw side when I get in the area

I want to do this now Lmao. Probably start off small and in house until I would be able to get a good storefront at a good price and location. Food, lounge, and fish store.

This nga. That's what's up! Banh mi, coffee, and fish tanks! 2 story building. Food and drinks up top with a display tank and a patio. Fish store on lower floor.
