  • Mosquito Island Specks

I took Monday off and went out to the bay in my kayak, near Mosquito Island. I had live shrimp and soft plastics. I caught undersized trout on the live bait all morning. It wasn't until I ran out of shrimp and started throwing a Bass Assassin that I caught these three keepers. The biggest was around 20" and the smallest around 16".

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

My friend caught a 29" and a 30" there this week on separate occasions. I hit three limits on top water in west bay last week. Stick to arties. Bait is too easy. I haven't fished with bait in five years
