FishLady, I'm sorry to hear your Mother was such a miserable person...some people just shouldn't be allowed to raise kids

    Hugs, Juicy

PS.....I can promise you this....if my Daughter ever keeps a journal I will never destroy it...no matter what she writes in it.

This "and put others needs and wants, and happiness ahead of her own" could be at the root of your problem.  Martyrs a rarely happy.

Well, I understand where JJ is coming from, but your right hanson, the first post is usually one of introduction. Then we can go ahead and share our comments with the other forum members, but it is a sign of the times; how we are losing alot of things that are important in America including a little thing like etiquette.

fishlady, sorry if I "missread the whole thing totally". But I think that if you spend all your time making sure everyone else is happy, then you have no time to make yourself happy. As for the meaning of life, life has no meaning other than that which you find in it. More specifically; the meaning you find in your own life. If you find no meaning there, then I'm sorry. And my opinions may not be needed, but I believe this is a public forum, so...

jamjam....you still missed the whole thing .....we are each individuals....we all hold the right to be how ever we choose to be....I never said i don't pursue happiness for myself.....i do this daily....i was speaking in the past tense on that subject of how i wanted to be remembered not what i do right now....so see your still not seeing what was right in front of you.....i exceed in the pursuit of my own happiness every day........it gives me great joy to take care of my sweety, my kids, my friends, and i don't feel the least bit indifferent for putting their needs before my own for the moment....that's not martyrdom....that's unselfish acts of a kind hearted person.....and in my opinion there's not alot of us left in this world......it's full of hate, greed, and by far total disregard for one another.....so in response to your misunderstanding....i have alot of meaning in my life.....i think therefore i am.......

So many opinions we hear are negative.    Your thoughts in print are more exposing than anything spoken.

Perhaps it was the gratuitous use of ellipsis (which by the way should only be three dots '...') that led me astray. That and the incomplete sentences.

your forgiven for being an english critic....the use of ellipsis is my thing...trademark if you will.....there is no proper mla format on here....we just jot down what we feel and noone cares if it's spelled right or has the proper punctuation marks in it....so stop being so literal hun....life's too short for that....
with that said....i am guessing since your on this site you have a fish tank or tanks???...so i let me say welcome to the houstonfishbox...where a kid can be a kid....and the adults...well...we can be kids too....
