        Its closer to Livingston :P

Yeah I drive past it every day, twice a day actually. We thought it was an Indian community with wigwams and stuff set up for tourists.

Y'all could go to Moody Gardens...don't they have an aquarium? Have they ever seen an IMAX movie? Those are pretty cool! Maybe y'all can see a 3D one or something... Y'all can also go to Natural Bridge Caverns in New Braunfuls(?)... The Comal River is so beautiful and clear too...

I'm late for your tour plan, but :
In Jan , most of Utah is too risky (for driving) due to weather. They have real winter, not like Wales.
Come back in May for Yellowstone ,Brice or Cedar Brakes, maybe Zion ,lots of geology in Utah.
The only reason to see Neb. is to see the vast open spaces of dry land -compared to Wales.
IL, the museum type stuff is dramatically greater than anything in TX.And Sears tower will be impressive compared to Wales.

I was in Salt Lake City in february 2 years ago and it wasnt anywhere near as bad as where i used to live in Wales. Have you ever been to the Brecon Beacons in Wales? Or Snowdon?

Re: What to do in America?

Yes, driven from London to; Cornwall, Swansea, St Davids (favorite), Hereford, Midlands, Glasgow, Aberdeen, St. Andrews (would't want to live there but great woolens). I NEVER saw the 10ft high road/cliff edge markers for the snow plows that one sees all over Utah. Maybe all roads in UK are heated to melt the snow?

Re: What to do in America?

Cause you never went to Brecon, Snowdon, or anywhere else in Wales that we get snowed in every year. Its not risky to drive, but impossible.

Its really gone off topic, i dont want to argue about the climate difference.Parts of America are colder than Wales, parts of America are a lot warmer than Wales. The UK as a whole, includes Scotland.

I asked what to do in America, Id still appreciate any feedback on things that would be interesting to see or do. Preferably close to Texas.

Chicago is awesome, NY is cool, the Grand Canyon is kinda cool and the drive between here and there has some really cool stuff. You can dig for diamonds in Arkansas.

Re: What to do in America?

Chris a two day excursion could be done to go see Austin and then drive north to Georgetown which is a nice place to show some of the older cities looked like (buildings are in old part of Georgetown are from the 1800's) and then since I love walking in caves, Inner Space Caverns near Georgetown is neat.  This cavern system was found because to build an overpass on I-35 they have to test the ground below so in 1963 they drilled to 45ft below to make sure that there was solid ground all the way.  At 43ft the drill caught air and they pulled out the drill and sent a man down to see why.  Inner Space Caverns was located.

The caves sound cool, and we'll probably be passing close by anyway.
