  • Bikini car wash!!! * Updated*

    Hey guys!

On Saturday, August 18th from 11am-4pm my car club is holding a bikini car wash in NW Houston. 100% of the proceeds & school supplies collected are staying local & going to the Houston Children's Charity. Please come out if you can & if you have any questions, PLEASE ASK!

The cost is simple: School supplies or a cash donation

I will be out there washing cars, as well. Please come out, introduce yourself, get your ride washed & help our local kids with school supplies for the upcoming school year. Thank you!!!

Between you, me & the fence post, I don't see the $20 requirement staying in place & will update this post if there are any changes. Even if it doesn't change, $20 in school supplies doesn't go very far. The pre-made packs you buy directly from the schools are over $20 for most grades & don't provide enough supplies to get the kids through the school year. A backpack is $20 all by itself! Some of these kids don't have new clothes, shoes or a back pack, much less $35 to buy a pack of school supplies from school. Throw in your multi-children families and you can easily spend over $100 in school supplies and still not be done for the year.

I can see the signs now "Hand Jobs & Rim Jobs $20" SMDH, lol.

Nothing we can do about people giving cash donations, approved by the charity or not & they realize that, but our approval is for tangible items. So, I've volunteered to go shopping for school supplies with the cash collected. The supplies will be delivered on Tuesday the 21st.

Mando, tell Rob that Dawn & Shawn say hello. Small world.

My son's (2nd grade) school supplies this year (pre-ordered) was $65.00 and my daughter's will be well over that (she's in 8th grade).

Good cause. I'm going to hyper this over on MARSH.

hhmm.. This is just down the street from where we are. We will be on our drive back from Florida on the 18th. But I will get my sister in law to stop by and drop off some school supplies. And yes, $20 does not even cover anywhere near half of what 1 student needs for the school year. We have three kids and just the basic supplies are about $75 per kid.

Thank y'all SO very much. I have 3 boys myself & luckily 2 are out of school now *whew*. Buying school supplies, clothes, shoes, backpacks, etc. was always a big expense we had to prepare for. Not to mention some of the extra things some teachers require that you don't find out about until after school starts.

Some kids aren't as fortunate so I truly appreciate yall's support and cross posting it on other local forums as well, even if you can't come out. We've posted it on local forums we are members on; HPD (Houston Performance Driving), MotoHouston, FaceBook, TTS (Texas Truck Scene) & here as well.

Thank you in advance for coming out & showing your support for our awesome H-Town kids & if you want to volunteer, we won't turn you away!
