          I would have scooped a couple buckets of that sand ! So white and FREE .LOL

            Yes, it is Florida. And I am going to bring back a cooler full of sand to make a "Florida" tank.

              really? you can bring sand? is that consider live sand? i am going there on the 24th.

                    I am taking my buckets then, lol. Do they let you collect live rock too or thats on their nomto take from the water policy?

                      You cannot remove live rock.

                      But I can't find anywhere they say you can't remove sand. But take at your own risk :)

                          I am going to try smuggling sand home when I go to sea base next summer, I hope I can fit a lot into my backpack!

                            so i just got back from Destin, and i did brought back a 5 gallon bucket of sand. i did called the wild and game department and they informed me sand was ok. but not rock. i did bring some clams too. i am starting the tank this week. i just need the LR and salt.

                              Thats pretty cool. We also brought back a cooler full of sand as well, along with about 100 hermits. The sand was extremely heavy because it was wet and we also had to fill the cooler with water to kee the sand alive. We got the 3 day tourist fishing license for $17 I think was how much it costs. That allowed us to remove 20 hermits a day from the water. But ya know what, I see other people removing bunch of hermits and I am pretty sure they did bother to get a license.. LOL :)
