We couldn't even say the word "garage", or "let's fire it up" without her running for the door.

I am so sorry for your loss. I raised & bred Chinese Shar-Pei for years back in the 90's. We had their eyes tacked when they were puppies to avoid cherry eye & before they ever went to new homes. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't always last a lifetime & with the combo of other health problems they're prone to, it sometimes cuts their lives short. They are great dogs & I know the empty spot you'll always have for her. I had 13 at one time & I wouldn't trade a single memory; I know you won't either. Such personality.
