  • Remembering Roy Flis

Heidi Flis contacted me today to let me know that our friend, Roy Flis, passed away on Sunday, 9-9-2012. For those of you who were fortunate enough to know both Heidi and Roy, this probably does not come as a surprise. He's been fighting a battle with his health for quite a while. However, even when he was not feeling 100%, he gladly opened his home to host meetings and parties for GHAC. He was extremely passionate about the fish-keeping hobby and a valued member of the community. He will be missed.

Heidi has asked that in lieu of flowers, anyone who would like to, may either 'Plant a Tree in Jerusalem' http://www.jnf.org/support/tree-planting-center/ OR make a donation to an Animal Shelter of your choosing.

Roy was a generous and kind man. He will be missed.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Sad news. We lost one of the good guys.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
