Definitely look into his Dirk Pitt series, its one of his characters. Also his book Sahara is excellent, the movie was nothing like the book, but they never are.

Depends what you are into Dave. W.E.B. Griffin is by far my favorite if you have any interest in the military/law enforcement with a historical twist you will enjoy him. I also read a lot of political stuff.

I also read a lot of James lee Burke. Good mystery stuff.

They're a twist to mystery/crime and fantasy, but real good books: Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher.

Not reading anything at the moment, but for fiction I really like Dean Koontz for a quick read, and Chuck Palahniuk for some dark, twisty stuff. James Patterson is always entertaining. Charlaine Harris, I can't put down. The Hunger Games trilogy was amazing. Action packed.

If you ever read non-fiction, "The Reluctant Communist: My Desertion, Court-Martial, and Forty-Year Imprisonment in North Korea" was really good. But North Korea fascinates me. Not in the 'wow, that is really cool' way, but in the 'WTF?' way.
