      • Thing is in my honest opinion that even having armed teachers would not have stopped this particular trajedy. Fact is humans thrust into this type of situation have one of two responses "fight or flee" and I'm sorry to say that while most teachers will protect their kids very few would have the where with all to grab that gun "which would probably be unloaded locked away in a closet" load it and try to handle the situation all while trying not to scare the crap out of their kids

Take a look at the would be theatre shooting that was just stopped by an off duty officer who cornered the gunman and stopped him before he could kill more. There is also the Pearl, MS shooting where the assistant principle had his truck parked a quarter mile away from the school so he could keep his gun in it. As the shooting started he sprinted both ways and help the killer at gun point until the police arrived.
@Suicune that is like saying if we make heroin illegal then nobody will overdoes from it......
if he wanted to kill his mother there are other things to do it with or illegalways to get guns. The lawful NEED protection from unlawful. Also the 2nd amendment has everything to do with protection from tyrannical government whichis what we have right now. This is all in the agenda of the politician. The media blast this stuff down your throat. GUN CONTROL GUN CONTROL, It has nothing to do with gun control and EVERYTHING to do with total control.

Weird how the fathers of both shooters (Colorado & Conn) are going to testify against our federal government late for a huge money scandal that involves some of the most powerful banks. Weird how Shady Hook has cameras andno film has been seen, weird how the murder weapon was a rifle but the suspect was found with nothing but handguns...weird how a grown man in the woods dressed in all camo was arrested and telling parents "It wasn’t me"on the way to the cop car ....where is that guy now? Weird how the official story has been changed so many times..Weird how the bodies were all taken in themiddle of the night after it was told they were going to do it Sunday....butlate, late Saturday night everything was taken. Weird how they get on TV an dtell us do not listen to anything or anyone but us and if you do you will be prosecuted. Stuff just doesn’t add up.

I was just trying to be the devil advocate to point out that your method of pick and choose examples is not effective. I never said I want tighten gun control. To be serious, the reality is that gun has integrated deeply into the American culture, tighten gun control would not help and not practical, so does letting guns flow everywhere. The problem that people always overlook is the origin of the cause. Like people often said guns don't kill people, people kill people. It's true. Which is why they need to take a look at their society and the values that shape it. Values that are outdated need to be replaced. We as a society has different priorities for things. Often times, we let important parts of our life slip down the list such as family value, education. Those are the start of this not gun laws or the right to bear arm.

                • I just heard a kid that attends Attucks Middle School took a gun from his parents and a neighbor saw him with it and called the cops. Cops caught him walking down the street. Not sure if its true.

                      • in the end this is a very mixed bag. you will always have a group that is for gun control and you will always have a group this is for more freedom with guns, but at the end of the day having guns in the schools is not the answerneither is giving a permit to anyone that can sit through a 4hr class because its more than a notion to pull a gun on someone especially if your not mentally ready to follow through with the actions.

                        • Im replying with a quote so its not out of context.
"Oh yea, one unrelated thing that just irks me, is when people call the government tyranny, just because their candidate lost. We had an ELECTION. "
I for one am not calling the government Tyranny, but the right to own firearms means that the government cannot take them or other belongings of mine away. Just like you can still own fully automatic weapons/ suppressed weapons/ sawed off shotguns. they just require more time/paperwork/and money. I dont know a single gun owner that would give up their firearm(s) EVER. You would basically have all of the law abiding gun owners become criminals.
