  • New people selling stuff.

Whats the deal with all the new accounts posting up stuff for sale? Especially the ones who arent exactly pricing their stuff decently. If you are selling something thats used at just under retail price, you are wrong.

Not pointing fingers. Just making an observation.

I don't see anything wrong with new accounts posting stuff for sale. There's no rule on this forum that prohibits new accounts from selling or buying. Also, I don't think there's a right or wrong price per se.. Just a "sell" or "won't sell" price. The market will bare what price the product will sell at. If the price is not agreeable to what you are willing to pay for it, then don't buy, but I fail to see anything "wrong" with it.

I honestly feel like if I was in the fish game to make money I would open a store. I buy stuff and expect to lose my butt when it's time to get rid of it or upgrade.

I never said there was anything wrong with doing it. I personally think its a bit tacky to jump on a forum you have no prior interest in and say "Hey buy my stuff!" But that is just my opinion. I'll still look at someone's post and if they are reasonable on a price I will consider buying from them. But I am also more inclined to buy from someone who has at least invested more than 5 posts in a forum. I am just wary of a brand new account selling stuff.

Just like with any other new account on eBay or any other site where people have a "count" of some sort. At some point we were all noobs. Gotta start somewhere, tho!

Yeah it's seller prerogative to set their price, does not mean it's going to sell though..
Just have a look at some of the prices on CL, they are dreaming if they think they're
going to get what they list for...

If you want to get a good idea of market price just
look on eBay under sold items, CL typically sells for about 10% less...

I think that doom has a point, this is an open forum, and as such you will have things that rub the regulars wrong on occasion, probably the best thing to do is just warn the members that new posters selling stuff needs to be really checked out, and always remember, Buyer Beware. If you cant afford to lose it dont send it.

I don't see anything wrong with a new account selling an item that on here. Just because the account is new on here doesn't mean they're not on any other forums. I feel like people put a high price now a days because 3/4th of the people out there now will lowball the crap out of you. Might as well throw it on the front lawn and give it away so you don't have to deal with the haggle.

If you don't like the haggle, put it on eBay.

I'm a member on several other forums and they have a minimum 35 or 40 post before your able to post B/S/T.

I'd rather buy from someone who's been somewhat active in the forum than a person with 0 post count

Some people don't like dealing with the shipping.
