  • A Gallon of Change

I finally filled up a gallon of change I started about 9 years ago. Didn't get serious about it until a couple years back. Thought I would make this a little fun and see what everyone thinks the total will be. Whatever I had, went in, even quarters. I'm to lazy to count and wrap so i'll be taking it to the bank tommorrow, and wait for the 5 day turnaround. I just hate that I don't get to know if I have any older or silver coins. I'm guessing $440.

just a thought, many bank branches still have change counting machines, where you don't even pay a fee... otherwise coinstar gives gift cards for stores at no charge, or you can pay a percentage and get cash.
    my fish house:
    2.5g- ramshorn hatchery
6g eclipse- yellow shrimp, chili rasboras, yellow apple snails
29g- geo grow-out, angels, 12"fire eel, dwarf frog, apple snails
45g- jade sleeper gobies, native killifish, feeder endlers

    75g-
2 oscars, parrot, silver dollars, albino channel cat, syno euptera, bichir, baby jaguar, convicts, yabby

I tried calling a few locations with whom I bank with but none had one. Money from this will be going towards to getting my car finished.

Fist question that should have been asked- you're putting in ALL change? Did you tend to spend the silver, at first?

Hmmm....my guess is $150. Mnemenoi's guess is 150ppm, or nitrate issues at the least.

Quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies went in. I doubt I have any silver, but if I do, they are just quarters and dimes now. Let me breakout the test kit for Mnemoi lol.

Sorry lookslater, I had a blonde moment, lol I thought you meant actual silver. At first I did spend the silver. Probably up until the 1/4 mark. I went to open a savings account at a credit union and they happened to have a coin machine. Came out to $286 and some change. I was thinking about giving away fish food I don't use to the closet person but most of it is expired.
