Agreed, we do not know enough information to judge.  I guess its a case by case matter.  AND, I agree with you imageekgirl...it really just depends.  I hate one of my neighbors.  He NEVER says hi to me even though I am very nice to him and he always lets his dog poop on our lawn.  That REALLY pisses me off!!!  

So, when are we having a HFB range meet?

ASC for me too!  Although it sucks being next to someone shooting a .50 cal...personal experience...came home with burns on my face and chest from his shells popping over on me!

I use to shoot on private land but that has been cleared so I don't feel its safe anymore.

Love impact zone.

Top gun is nice
Carters country is close to home

I am in no way a proponent of vigilante justice but next door is just too close to home for me. As my wife said, one of our neighbors would see the full force of our ability to defend. The other neighbors would benefit from my being around but I would not risk my safety. That said, if the situation came up and I heard something I would exit the house and defend myself in an escalated situation and yes, I feel I could neutralize a combatant in most situations if needed.

Jail is not a place I want to be and I certainly want to avoid that life.

Death threats are a form of assault. These days, I would simply allow the police to deal with those.

In this situation, I would not apologize to the cameras, the victim’s families or anyone but my family for the incontinence this would cause. Quite the opposite. I would hire an attorney and sue the family/estate of the victims for the cost of the ammo, legal fees and any cost associated with this inconvenience. I know this sounds like BS but I worked for a man who did this and won the lawsuit. He shot two home intruders and faced a series of legal challenges which resulted in his victory in the Houston courts where he was awarded reimbursement for ammo, house cleaning and legal fees.

For me it’s like the movie Idiocracy. If you haven’t seen it, it seems like this is where our society is going. People preach tolerance but the tolerance seems to only be doled out to the “disenfranchised” when it should be granted… nay respect should be expected for men like Joe Horn. I personally would donate to his legal fees if I could find out how. We as a community should rally around him in support and let the ignorant know that this type of criminal behavior is not acceptable in our communities and there is no tolerance for theft, home invasion or violence.

I guess we just have our differences.  I just dont understand why he would risk his life for his neighbors.  He KNEW no one was home.  The burglars were unarmed (yes, I understand they could have been concealing).  They were both shot in the back yet Mr. Horn insisted that he had to protect himself.  I do hope Mr. Horn does not face charges but I would have handled it differently.  I respect everyone's stand on this situation.  I guess we all just think differently.  Good night.

ASC is down the road for me and this is where I shoot the most.
Impact Zone is nice for all the fun stuff, but I dont like the drive and I dont have a membership.
If my friend comes along we can prolly goto the range he goes to which would be free for us.  This would be the Bayou Rifle Range in Iowa Colony.. Again a long drive south on 288, but its free.

My Vote for a meet would be ASC as there is a good chance there is range space.  Else Carter's Country up north.
Sunday's are my best time to meet.

I don't like ASC too much.....they don't like my silencers for whatever reason.....they also don't like my .50 beowulf....they probably not gonna like my SBR ar15.

EK -  you are right about the tax stamp stuff for ASC... they do not bend their rules at all.   The ONLY person I know of who has gotten away with anything at ASC is my friend Alex, when he showed up in complete HPD uniform and hit the range... now granted, it prolly helps he knows half of all the range officers there too.
If tax stamp stuff is what we want to shoot we will need to find somewhere else to go play.

EK - What ranges besides Impact Zone allows you to shoot your tax stamp stuff at ?
