I do agree with the situational awareness. People are too busy playing with their gadgets to notice what's going on around them.180g - 2 Red Oscars, 1 Tiger Oscar, 1 JD, Convicts, convicts & more convicts

Thank you beefy and Scorpioswife for at least valuing an outside opinion, you are right, I'm not native Texas, i come from the land of bad teeth and warm beer so I can't claim to have the experiences you guys have, that's why I chose to hold my tongue. We're all products of our pasts, all individuals and all have a right to our opinions, i just felt like that wierdest foreign guy commenting on foreign affairs I have no part in. I really appreciate you not just just calling me a limey ******* and shouting me out of the room!

I have a friend who is a psychologist for the state. They do rehabilitation for youth and young adults to see if they are competent enough to live normal lives and not be violent. Those who show progress are kept on campus until they are no longer showing signs of anger and violence. Those who show no progress are sent to prison or to another facility. These people are sent there because of them committing crimes or their families sending them out of concern. If we had more concerned families, things like mass murders can be reduced.210gPetrochromis Macrognatus Green 'Nsumbu

Honestly, as someone who work in education and student development, I feel that our government doesn't value education as they should be. Any time there's a cut in funding, you don't see any of their pork barrel projects get cut, it's always cutting education, blame the teachers blah blah blah.. Then there's the whole mumble jumble of how we spend more money per student than anyone in the world, but we also have the highest cost of education. Most of those "money" do not go toward the student benefits but go into the administrators for random useless projects like buying random software for school without testing if they even work.
As someone who spent his education in 4 different education systems, the US stand out to me because we do not focus on teaching character shaping and ethics. Japan spends a large part of elementary years teaching their kids how to be a proper person, Taiwan does the same thing, Vietnam too. I have a friend from Germany, and he said they do have the same course requirement toward those subjects. America has none of that, our ethics courses are a joke and it's not even a required course. Many of our teenagers acts with a sense of entitlement thinking they can own the world. To me it's the root cause of all these violent acts. You can take away guns, knives, or go the opposite extreme of giving everyone weapons, but if your society is rotten, violence will still happen anyways.I have the patience of a goldfish....
