USPS Cost Me Almost $400

I checked... usps does no offer a second day by 10 am service. If it was shipped express its next day by noon. If its priority its 2-3 day but can be delivered anytime of the day. Did the tracking number end in a number or the letters US?

Even now the last tracking info is that the package left LA at 6:30am on April 12th...

Obviouslyly my first choise is that the fish somehow survived and they find the package tomorrow
but my gut feeling tells me otherwise.
Will see what happens tomorrow....

Express is only next day by noon to certain areas. Sometimes it is by 3pm. Sometimes it is two days . . . (which defeats the purpose)

thats true.. when i import bettas.. a friend and i split the shipment.. she is in San Marcos.. even with USPS EXPRESS>. its a two day delivery for her.. but for me in austin.. it is over night.. don't know why.. but it is what it is..

not sure if that is, or was a reason for your situation.. but it happens..

Update: After another trip to PO this morning and calls to USPS customer service, all i got was apologies.
Seems that the best i can hope for is a refund on the shipping cost $76, so i'm out about $300.
I accept some of the blame, feel a bit sick to my stomach when i think about it...

I mean if you never got the package here in houston, it was probably a missent by the PO. What is the tracking info saying? it should had been updated within 1-2days or hours

Package Arrived


The package arrived this afternoon, unfortunately only 2 of the Trophs made it.



Just a quick timeline so everybody knows:

Paid seller on Wednesday 10th
Seller ships on Thursday at 5:30 pm
USPS updates tracking that package has left Thousand Oaks PO at 6pm
Package leaves Santa Clarita sorting facility at 9pm
Package arrives LA on Friday 12th 630 am
Package leaves LA on Friday (No time given)

And that was it no further updates until 12pm today when the package left North Houston...


Seller
The sellers packaging was pretty good and i can't fault him, also he did not guarantee
live arrival. He has not offered any assistance other than that he would start a claim
with the USPS to try and recoup the shipping fee which he will refund me when he gets it...

USPS
The USPS was a nightmare to deal with, after being shunted around between customer service,
consumer complaints department and Cypress PO all i got from them was a few apologies.
No one would take responsibility.

My Mistakes
Agreeing that the seller ship over a weekend
Not getting a DOA guarantee from seller
Using express mail, which for some reason is only next day to certain areas
Not getting insurance did not matter as USPS does not insure live animals

If you can think of any more let me know ^^^, others can learn from my mistake...

So, that's it...

Sucks man. Next time get a shipper that has a SW account. Air cargo is always the cheapest and quickest way.
