Letting Out Some Steam

Ordered 20 Trophs from seller in Cali, shipping was via USPS Express mail
guaranteed by 10am on second day.
I arrive at Cypress PO (Must be among worst in Houston) at 10:15 on Saturday
eagerly anticipating picking up my Trophs.

Waited there for 2 hours while they are trying to locate my package, finally they send me
home saying it will be delivered by 3pm, yeah right, package never arrived....
Called USPS customer service, they started an "urgent inquiry" and also gave me the number
to consumer affairs to call on Monday...

Of course i'm sure the Trophs are dead by now.
I'm expecting a long drawn out battle to try and recover my money....

Moral of the story:
1) Gov can't run anything effectively
2) Never use USPS for critical time sensitive packages

I'm so sorry to hear about this. :( I really hope somehow this ends up with a good outcome.

I have to say that I've never had problems with USPS in any state except Texas. Not sure why that is. I had similar problems with them not delivering overnight packages on time.

What day did the Seller ship your package ? Did you receive a tracking number ? Did the Seller use Kordon breather bags or did he use regular shipping bags ? Were these WC fish or F1 ? What size are the fish ?

I tried to call the post office on Almeda in Houston once about a fish shipment and their phone was "disconnected" for like 4 hours. Lol!! Wtf is that.

Received tracking number from seller, it was updated until the shipment left LA, from there nobody knows what happened to it.
Seller is apparently experienced with shipping, said he packed them very well. They were F1 about 2" in size...

What day did the Seller ship your package ? Did you receive a tracking number ? Did the Seller use Kordon breather bags or did he use regular shipping bags ? Were these WC fish or F1 ? What size are the fish ?

So these were shipped Thursday ? The reason I ask is because I have shipped 40+ boxes of fish via USPS Express and approximately 20 boxes USPS 2nd Priority with great success . Out of all those boxes , I only had one box that did not make it overnight as guaranteed by USPS . I ask about the shipping date and the tracking number because that way you could verify that the package was actually shipped on the date the Seller claimed .

Also , I know that you said that your Seller was an experienced shipper......but I would never ship fish for a Saturday delivery . Especially something as sensitive as Trophs . If something happens on Saturday...you can't get the fish on the next day......you have to wait until Monday .

But on a positive note...Panda......you may get lucky . Depending on how he prepped the fish for shipping...you may not have a loss . Or at least..not a total loss . If he stopped feeding them a couple days before shipping and bagged each fish individually.....then you may be alright . I once shipped a box to Indiana with some Taiwan Reef Haps and the box went all the way there and back and some of the fish survived . The whole ordeal was 10 days . I know ...UNBELIEVABLE .......but true story .

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that...I know that's everyone's worst fear with shipping fish. Hopefully you can get a refund if nothing else, it was guaranteed, right?

Yeah....you'll get your shipping refunded for sure . Unfortunately , USPS will not let you insure a package with live animals .
