  • World Record Attempt

Well, its time to tell everyone now...my husband is a speedskater (inline, not ice). He decided a few months ago that he wanted to break the world record for skating across the US from San Diego, CA to Jacksonville, FL. You can see all the details HERE There is also a link on that post for his myspace page, so you can follow his progress.

We are down to the last week of our time here in Texas. We leave for California on December 29th. Emotions high, anticipation through the roof, we feel ready for anything, but so vulnerable at the same time. We know what we are in for, but don't know what to expect. This is getting intense.

We are doing everything we can to raise money (we have continuously had auctions on AquaBid to raise money, and are working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), but every bit helps. If anyone has the urge to make a donation for this trip, we would be forever grateful for the support. Every dollar helps, even if it is only $1. We have sponsors (thank you Bont, Ezeefit, and Clifbar for your gifts and support). If anyone has even $1 to spare, we have paypal (hsherman1986@yahoo.com or d_dannels@hotmail.com)

Thank you everyone for your support!

My parents know how to take care of everyone. They did it when we traveled to all of our races last year. They even know how to harvest the vinegar eels to feed my fry

I want to thank everyone for their support (especially our sponsors, Bont, Ezeefit, and Clifbar)

              Re: World Record Attempt

Well, just wanted to update real quick. We started skating a couple days ago. Had to take an involutary day off yesterday, due to some technical difficulties, but we got back on the road today. We made good time today, we are about 4 miles out of Santa Ysabel, CA. Lots of hills, not a lot of road to skate on...this has been an interesting journey so far.

Tomorrow, we get back on the road. We previewed the first few miles of tomorrow's run, and it looks like a nice smooth downhill run. SHould be a good day

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!!

                Re: World Record Attempt

We have made it out of California, so far. We are currently in Yuma, AZ, slowly but surely tracking across the US. We have contacted a few different news networks, hopefully someone will want to make a story out of this :)

We appreciate all the support and well wishes everyone has sent us.

We do need to start raising some more money, as funds are running low. We would appreciate any donations, but if you cannot, we could also use media coverage. Please feel free to contact your local news networks with our story. Danny's myspace is HERE. Feel free to contact us through the myspace page, or here. We check the myspace more often though.

Thanks again everyone!! Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers!
