Is there any places to fish in houston? I'm not talking about man made lakes, I'm talking about back woods fishing, no roads.

There's only one natural lake of any size in Texas. Most lakes are man made the man made lakes have great fishing. You need to go to the country if you want back woods. This is houston. Not much back woods left outside of the suburbs.210gPetrochromis Macrognatus Green 'Nsumbu

Yup, Caddo lake is the only natural lake in the state of Texas. Although some would consider Sabine lake as a natural lake also, it is actually part of the Sabine River so not really a lake. All other lakes in the state of Texas are man made.

I'm pretty sure they did answer your question, you have to look for it. Caddo lake is the only non man made lake in Texas. So obviously that means there are no non man made lakes in or around Houston. Back woods, nonexistent in Houston. You have to go out past the suburbs to find "backwoods" fishing and even then it won't be in a natural lake, that is of course unless you go to Caddo lake.Originally posted by Johnsbra123 View PostGreat now we established that the lakes are man made, which is obviously common sense to everyone. Geesh. In your original post you asked what's the best non man made lake to fish in. We told you there's only 1 non man made lake in Texas. So obviously you are limited to just that one lake. Instead you replied by calling those who took the time to respond with name calling.Originally posted by Johnsbra123 View PostGreat now we established that the lakes are man made, which is obviously common sense to everyone. Not sure why you feel the need to get ugly when everyone in this thread answered exactly what you asked, without being rude to you. You asked a question, and multiple people gave you the same answer, which I would consider a good thing since it's a confirmation of the information. No one degraded you for asking the question, no one was beating around the question, in fact, they were straight up with the answers.Originally posted by Johnsbra123 View PostGreat now we established that the lakes are man made, which is obviously common sense to everyone. So, I would just like to say thank you to all who responded in this thread. I didn't realize that a majority of the lakes in Texas are man-made. I've learned something, despite the lack of appreciation by the OP.Our Fishhouse
