Yea its very fun if you purchase a kayak i recommend the perception sport pescador, bang for your buck its the same body style as the 2008 wilderness tarpon.

And I would suggest practicing before going on. My first time I had no practice. Flipped three times. I predicted it would happen so I didn't take anything valuable out. My hardest part was trying to land redfish and falling out of the chair when I was leaning over trying to net.

+1 practice and always wear a life vest! first time I practice in lake houson with no gear went out and i flipped over on purpose. I was practicing how to get back in. It's easy just required a lil practice you should get the hang of it with 1 day practice. and never lean over too much to one side. If you do decide to get one let me know I have a buddy that I kayak fish all the time with, your more than welcome to join.

I was thinking about taking a kayak class before I bought one. Not sure if my back will be able to handle it. Then demo some. I am a fat *** so I need something that will fit my big ole but.

I found out that all the man made lakes are stocked with bass in Sienna plantation and you are allowed to kayak on them.

Driving on IH45 is probably more dangerous.

U aint never lying. My last three trips I saw terrible wrecks. One was so bad the entire freeway was closed. Was around 4:30 AM each time though.

Kayaking is fun. I have a sit in 12' ad after two or three trips you'll be just fine. My fishing kayaks are sit on top, self draining and more stable than sit ins. Just go for it. Buy some oars and a life vest. Have fun..

It sounds fun, always wanted to try it! I kayaked before but never fished from it.

Get a 17' canoe. Easier on your back.

I don't recommend a canoe for in fishing in galveston. If it sinks you can say goodbye. Sit on top is the way to go its more versatile. If you are a bigger guy ocean prowler big game would be good
