I was leaning towards a larger one. More room for me and more stable.

I have canoe fished in the bay. For many years. I have tryed both and the canoe is more comf. to me. Plus you can use a small out board or trolling motor.
I have a real boat now but miss the canoes.

I don't want a trolling motor kinda defeats the purpose of paddling. I need exercise!

It's hard out there on the water man. Trolling motor gives you more range. Especially trying to paddle against 25 mph winds.

If there is a 25mh wind blowing. I and not going to be in a kayak or a canoe. But you have a point. things blowup pretty fast on the water. And being able to get off the water fast is a plus...

You can always get a kayak sail.

Best kayaks period are the Hobie's. The Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14 is a dream. My buddy is 6'4" at 280 lbs. and it handles him just fine. Best thing about a Hobie....you can buy sails, live wells, pontoons and lots of other great add ons. And it's peddle drive.
                  A mouth will say anything....:ym_chatterbox:....Take a picture!!!!

I didn't plan on going out to the gulf with it.

                      Man those hobies look nice.
