When I used braid (which I stopped) I used either Power Pro or Suffix. Power Pro used to swell up after a few trips. I stopped using braid because I found it was too difficult to deal with when wading. It has no stretch and as a trout fisherman I was forced to tie leaders. Well braid to mono uni knots weren't exactly strong or easy so I left it alone. Might suit you well for bottom fishing. Since braid has no stretch, it cuts very easily on shell and sharp structures as opposed to mono, which will get frayed a little. Good luck.

Braid is the only line I will ever use I use suffix. I night fish lights and I can feel every hit I don't like the stretch mono has and saltwater breaks down mono pretty quick. The only mono I use is on my surf rods because 700 yards of braid is exspensive
You aren't a big trout fisherman are you? They have the softest mouths of any game fish in our bays. When I used braid I was forced to use mono leaders because when a trout pulls drag, with braid it tears a hole in the mouth. You are forced to keep the line tight because any slack will allow the hook to fall out. Trout are big jumpers and splashers and are excellent at causing slack in line. I've lost way too many big trout using braid so that's why I stopped. Redfish tournaments it's almost a must. Need to horse the fish in to reduce stress so they don't die in the livewell. I like it for all fish except trout.
