  • Looking for a General Contractor, new fish room

Hello everyone. Girlgeek and I are looking for someone to build a loft in our home in the attic space above the garage. This is to move our office to accommodate a new fish room where the current office is. So, we need a contractor who can do Sheetrock, Insulating, some minor electrical and general carpentry work. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

See your doing it all wrong. Your supposed to invite us around for food and drinks, and then say - 'well means as your all here, grab a hammer'.

post an ad on craigslist describing what you need done.

I found a general contractor on craigslist, I had him weld up a bike stand for me... if you wanted I could try to find one of his cards, he is up here in spring, I'm not sure where your located.

oh wait....I do know someone but his business card is in my car.  I'll pm you his phone number though.  He is awesome.  He is a perfectionist.  Don't judge him on appearance or anything.  Sit back and watch his work.  ;-)

Do you know his name and general location?  It's amazing the info that can be dug up on the internet.

Here's the things you said that make me want to have him come give us a quote....."he's a perfectionist" and "don't judge him on appearance or anything".     I'm intrigued!

I can't remember the spelling of his last name.... he drives from Katy up to North Houston to do work for my landlord and for a sheriff that owns property.  He also does other work around Houston.  He drives a beat up old van, looks like a harsh wind will blow him away and yet he can tear something apart and rebuild with and exactness that is amazing.  He takes great pride in his work and to me... that says a lot.  He can stand back and smile at what he does. His name is Tommy.  I will find his card in my car or the number from my old phone after school.  My students wouldn't understand if I ran downstairs right now lol.
