i seem to rarely buy beer now. I have a wheat beer in primary right now and racking it tonight. going to add in fresh mango puree, let it sit for about a month, and then add some jalapenos to get a sweet/spicy flavor.
last beer i made was a cinnamon roll ale...kind of a brown ale base with cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans...turned out great. more of a holiday type beer instead of summer
otherwise i still have some of the imperial nut brow ale i bottled back in dec, and a belgian trippel from feb.
Have you used peppers in beer before ? I've made a couple of green chile beers, they where a bit too peppery for me. I've used jalapenos before but can only seem to get the peppery flavour and not the flavour of the fruit.
The gaff smelled great with this fermenting this morning.
looking good. i always like the aroma around the fermenter
i have never used peppers before, but have sampled some peoples attempts. some were nice like chili/lime beers. and some were like drinking lava cause they used habaneros or ghost peppers.
i am more so leaning towards splitting the batch. maybe 1 gallon with peppers (no veins or seeds) tasting every day or two until i get some peppery flavor. the rest will be without peppers for more of a summer time wheat.
