ok i sat up a new 10 gal tank with sand. How long dose it take for the sand to settle down. so the water is clear again?? please help

Should be overnight....what filter do you have on the tank? Sand is probably the #1 killer of HOB filter impellers.

Dont run a filter untill the sand settles down

One way to assist clearing up the tank  is to place a bubble sponge in the tank, if you have one.

They do a great job clearing the minute particles of debris from the water table too....

Well all i have is the hangover filter for it but its the one that hangs in the water..... Thats all i have. And im talking about im just setting up the tank and now all the sand in the tank is making the tank look all cloudy. and the tank has been sitting for 5 hours almost 6

Time will eventually send all large particles to the bottom, have patience grasshopper.....

Too bad you dont' have a small air pump and bubble sponge, that would clear a 10 gallon tank in just a couple hours.

yea. I know. My friend he is a presadent here. He made his own with a air pump for the fish tank a pvc pipe and a car sponge at the end
