Have fun with it...and post LOTS of pics.  Well...post lots of pics of your fish.  Don't go crazy and start posting pics of, like, furniture, your neighbors, family reunions, etc.

Re: I have a camera, and I know how to use it

Very nice! Congrats. I was at Houston Camera Exchange Friday and they said they might schedule a class for Aquarium photography if there is interest. It's a great store and Chuck (works there) used to work at the Houston Zoo and is a really good person to talk to for nature photography information. They are also going to let Charles put flyers and coupons up there for the new Fish Ranch. They also have a 135g tank in there to try out cameras and lenses on.

I was there getting Traci a 90mm Macro lens for her camera and fish pics. It was an early Valentines day present :) I have no patience when it comes to things lie this I had to give it to her early.

That's some serious photos you are working with there CF! You know now that you have showed us all this it will be expected of you to have pictures in every thread you start and for anything you sell.

GuyGeek......that sounds awesome about the photography class thing! NASH is planning to have a "how-to" for one of it's meetings this year and hopefully we can get people like J.Senske to join in on the topic since he takes some of the most awesome aquatic pictures for ADG.

                    Steve,

My only advice to you is you need to learn the setting for "shutter speed priority" or Manual settings, this will make your fish look sharp while the camera adjusts for aperture.    On my Canon the setting on the dial is "Tv"

It will tell you if you have enough light.. if not enough light.. add more to the tank for the shot.

Well, that's a long story, but suffice it to say, I had to bring them home. It's a real shame though, I loved having them with me at work and I had a very good maintenance schedule going for them there.

Thanks, I plan on taking my users guide to work with me tomorrow and pick up some more tips on aquarium shots.

That fish has given us 3 seperate fry groups now, I forget what kind of cichlid she is, but someone here posted the species name a little while back....has a X in the name somewhere...>>???
