  • Steroids, Baseball and ???Congress???

Okay, this may not be popular but Why the heck is Congress wasting time and money on this steroid issue for? Have they really solved all the real problems and have nothing better to focus on?

First, who really cares if professional athletes use steroids or hgh??? If you have done any real research on steroids you will know that there are so many different types, uses and results from steroid use. Birth control pills are the equivalent of a steroid that adjusts womens hormones to keep them from having children but Congress and the media don't seem to care about this.

And FYI, Clemens had (supposedly) 13 or some stupid number of steroid and HGH injections over the course of many years??? Do the research. A minimum steroid cycle for the most minor results is a 6 week cycle with multiple injections a week. HGH is even more injection intensive. So, 13 over years doesn't even make sense.

I don't understand. It doesn't make sense at all.

    Just my 2 cents.

It is AMERICA'S game, and that about all the sense I can make out of it. If the players were being forced to take them or a lot were dying from them I could understand Congress getting involved. As far as I know the players do it under their own volition and none have died, so I don't see why Congress needs to waste money it.  It's probably just a bunch of bored old men with nothing better to do, or maybe they're just trying to get their names out there.

This body of Congress, which does not merit a capitol C, but I'll give them one anyway for proper grammers sake, is not concerned with the real topics of vital importance of the country. They are for the most part, bought and paid for by the real men of power who seek to control and steer this country towards their own goals.

Do your research, I know you have heard of the movement, anyone who has access to the net should be aware of the New World Order, and the Bilderberg Group, the plan to dumb down america and slowly but surely over time, enslave americans by restricting their way of life to suit the powers that be.

Sounds crazy huh....well....You may think so now, but, in time, you may wake up and smell the facisim.

                  Re: Steroids, Baseball and ???Congress???

It's certainly an interesting and passion evoking debate. There is a lot of mis information provided to the general public about this subject as well. The use of steroids in our society is prevalent and when used properly are not nearly as dangerous as lets say, caffeine, alcohol, prescription pain killers or something like Ritalin according to FDA studies.

The FDA ranks caffeine as one of the most addictive narcotics, yes narcotics. Yet there is a Starbucks on every corner where they hyperload their coffee with caffeine according to recent studies. We as a society send teenagers off to Starbucks every day to hang out and load up on the socially acceptable, over priced narcotic because its safe and mainstream yet caffeine causes heart attacks, insomnia and is highly addictive and withdrawal is very painful including but not limited to migraines. Heck, I bet we all have refrigerators full of caffeinated sugar water in our fridge and aren't asking or even willing to allow Congress to conduct very expensive special hearings to investigate our use of this highly addictive and dangerous narcotic.

Anabolic steroids work by increasing the production of testosterone in the body. When used properly over time the effects can be very positive. Much like any drug, when abused can be dangerous. This is not much different than the use of birth control to regulate estrogen production in women.  So you have to ask the questions. Why is a drug that alters women's hormones so that they can't conceive children so widely accepted and a drug that increases a man's mental and physical abilities so frowned upon? They adjust the similar male/female hormones.

On a more personal level. Athlete's are just that. People with above average athletic ability. I try very hard to remind my children that these are just people who are good at playing a game. Role models are what you create for young impressionable minds. Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Grandpa, B-Paw who fought in WWII, the men and women of our armed forces, etc... That is just me though and I am in no way attacking anyone so please understand that this is just my opinion.

As for the job issue. We all have different careers and employers. I have been in the same industry for over 15 years. I have had employers where drug and alcohol use would have been bad and I have had employers where it was all readily available. This really isn't an issue for me but I can say that life is a series of choices and if I decided that I wanted to use drugs, I guess it would be a choice I would have to live with. If my employer didn't care, I don't know why Congress would care unless I was responsible for other people's lives.

Again, it just doesn't make sense to me but that is just my humble opinion.

Please don't take this as anything more than an interesting and unintelligent debate based on current events.

                    LOL at Chas about Starbucks.

But it is a waste of money and time to focus on the use of steriods. What really killing me is the simple fact how society have switch thier views when a "Hero" or "Titan" have been accused of using it.

Focus should be spent on lowering gas prices, fixing unemployments.

                        Re: Steroids, Baseball and ???Congress???

Congress is better off talking about baseball, it keeps the focus off the real issues at hand, like the economy (google - Amero) and the fake war on terror.

As I have pointed out recently, it is everyone's right to voice their opinion, whether it be popular or not. It is one of our rights until that too is taken from us.
