Here is a message I received today from Ethan's mother....

THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT FOLKS!

    Hey ya'll!

I wanted to drop you all a note to let you know how much it means to me that you are involved with St. Baldricks! As you are gearing up to participate in this event, Ethan is gearing up to get on with the rest of his life. He is scheduled for his last diagnostic spinal tap and bone marrow aspiration on March 13. If he is still in remission (we expect no less) we will take 7 more chemotherapy pills at night and call this a done deal on March 19th! We are extremely excited about the new non-cancer ventures in our life and hope to figure out a new normal for our family. Of course, the greatest chance of relapse is the first year off treatment, so we will remain cautious and worried, but honestly, it's not like I would have gone right back to being worry free anyways!

Good luck to you in your efforts to raise money for a cause that is so worthy. It is probably one of the most "in your face" fundraisers I have seen and I am proud of each and every one of you that have the courage to stand up and prove, it's just hair!

    ~Shannon Ford

Ethan's mom also gave me a link to their journal about the last 3 years and all the treatments Ethan has undergone. Check out these numbers...

Since January 2005 he has faced the following:
    Bone Marrow Aspirations: 9
    Lumbar Punctures with Chemo: 18
Diagnostic Spinal Taps to check for Blasts: 4
    Leg Shots: 56
    Port Accesses: 41
    Days in the Hospital: 83
    Surgeries: 7

So... skip a latte, fancy lunch out, cocktail hour or that new pair of jeans... and sponsor either myself, Christine, Zip or Cindy. I have CONVENIENTLY placed links below.

..IT'S JUST HAIR... but it's NOT JUST MONEY... .. It means research grants, medical treatment funding.... and a second chance for kids like Ethan.

We have currently raised almost $1,800 to help children with cancer!! If u are thinking about donating.....u have until Sunday!! If everyone on the site donate even 5 dollars it would make a big difference in these kids lives! What is $5????? it won't even get u around the block with gas prices.....but it can make a HUGE difference in a child's life!!
