    Re: computer geek help please

We'll find out.  There could have been something out of whack since it had so many partitions.  We're just undoing all of it and offering a clean slate.

Make sure you don't do a quick format and also format NTFS.

reboot and on the black screen it will tell you to hit esc or f1 or something to enter setup. See if the drive is recognized there. If so see what size it shows and if you can reset the drive.

                    Mrairportjunke..

what is the name and model number of the drive.. and I can tell you exactly what kind of drive it is.  I am going to tell you this sad information.  I have not heard of a 90g drive.. I have seen 80 and 100.. but not a 90.. many manufactures use 1,000,000kilobyte (10^6) to equal 1gigabyte rather than the truthful 2^10 or 1048576kb = 1gigabyte, which means 80,000,000 = 78.125g before format which you lose on average 1/2% of total drive space to drive information that has to be written onto the drive so it knows where it is when it looks to read or write to the drive.
If you look at your drive there is a good chance it should be at about 73.9G total space.

Sorry for the long scientific explanation.

Its almost trying figure out why manufactures of airplanes try and sell it to you in Mph when all you ever care for is what it flys in Knots.
