    Why are things costing more?

    They don't cost a penny more, in reality, some things actually cost less than they used too. It's just the dollar isn't as strong as it used to be. Today our dollar is almost without any real value. If you have coins from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, some of them are worth over 25 times their value because of the copper or silver in them. Silver and Gold are now at all time highs....Gold is over a 1000.00 and ounce now.

    The american dollar is dying and the real men and women of power who are steering this country are carefully manipulating the population to accept the way things are with a "Oh well, nothing I can do about it" mentality.  Hardly anyone reads anymore, and if they do, it's only about the latest on Brittany and her run in with the law. It's no surprise to me that we are in the state we are in, we've been slowly but surely brain washed since the cradle.  

    Oh heck, it's late and I'm talkin to the wall.....

    From what I gather.....those that are being manipulated are either switching to smaller more fuel efficient vehicles or cutting back on their driving and leisures to fund fuel.

    So if that is true then you my friend are grouped in with what you are preaching against! You still drive your american powered truck but pinch on the miles and others have resorted to fuel efficient vehicles. I myself do think about where I am going a bit more careful but still go when I feel like it....also my income has increased to keep up with oil prices.

    Also states that the percentages have went up....then down....then up but not as much as before.

      well EK, it's not everyone that can get up in the morning and say.."i think i'll go buy that fuel efficient/hybrid car today"...some of us are doing well just to keep what we have for the time being. Other's have no chance at all with getting more fuel efficient transportation with the way the economy is now.
      I for one make very good money being a Registered Nurse, but i can't just go out and buy another vehichle at this time. And how the heck could i transport my fish tanks from here to there? I sure as heck can't afford to pay someone else to transport for me, they would charge me gas as well as for their time. So in the long run I am really doing the best thing for me by keeping my truck. It's not a gas guzzler anyway...it has a straight 6 in it....Doesn't take as much gas as let's say....Mike's racing machine?. Or your Lexus to get from one place to another. I do think about where i'm going each time i get behind the wheel. and if i'm not sure of the area i map it out so not to waste my time and money getting there.
      Let's face the facts here.....the government wants us to be at their mercy and peeps the road is leading us there very quickly.
      We need a as Paul, George, Ringo, and John put it "Revolution".....the american people need to fight back against NWO. Send a message to the Neocons that we're tired of being puppets on a string being held by silent dictatorship.

      okay....(stepping off my soapbox now)......
      now let's all go to the auction and try to enjoy the day.....for who know's it could be our last one .....

        Not that it matters, but your' missing the poing here or not seeing the big picture, the car you drive, the life style you live, that's not the issue, the issue is.....
        the dollar is fading into oblivion, and with it, will go our way of life.....

        Let's hope I'm wayyyyyyyy over exjagerating here....but if I'm just a little bit close to being right.....what then?

            If I read that article right the dollar is buying more then it did two decades ago in fuel.

              Just don't let your supply of ammo run low....just in case, and it wouldn't hurt to think about stock piling some food too....

                I have MRE's and tons of ammo.....ready for the revolution or another katrina incident.

                    I have a generator along with UPS battery back up....not to forget all the power inverters I have gathered for the cars which I have tested to run powerheads and what not. I have enough to keep them alive long enough for them to be fresh when I am forced to eat them.


                    What have you done for anything with all this preaching about this mess?

                      Nothing but procrastenate the things I should do. Although I believe we are in for tough times ahead, one part of me wants to believe it's all BS, and there's nothing to worry about. If there is enough time, I may take some steps towards self reliance, but I still find it hard to believe this country has lost it's way and that indeed, there could be a depression coming or maybe even much worse.....time will tell.....

                      Let's hope you don't need those firearms anywhere but on the range....

                        And here I always thought the rules of business 101 were in play. i.e. supply and demand along with commoditization of goods and services.

                        I can buy 50 DVD players today for what one cost 10 years ago.

                        Gas is expensive because demand is high and supply is metered. If the current gas prices are such a problem then the people need to vote for leaders who will open Alaska, and the west coast up for drilling then increase drilling in the gulf and in Texas. We have high gas prices because a minority of people make enough noise about non issues that they know little about.

                          Did you ever see the prices of LaserDisc? Tell me Blue Ray is expensive after purchasing one of those.

                            I agree but we have to remember that until new refinerires (sp) are built here. We are going to have to depend on opec.

                            When opec is happy gas is down...when opec is mad gas is up

                            I could go on...but this one of those sitting down watching aqauriuams talk!
