Hey everyone,
I haven't been around much in the last bit, but with my tanks all in storage, I didn't really have much motivation. I am asking for some help in finding someone who can perform a service for me.
The story: I called my parents the other day, and my mom said that my dad had a story for me. Dad is a life-long fisherman, and we've had plenty of adventures together during our trips. We've caught some pretty nice fish, as a team. He loves to fish, but he sometimes likes to just go out looking to catch something special.
Well, he was out with my uncle (the state fisheries biologist for my hometown area) last week, and I don't remember what he said he thought it was, but he took a glance, and thought he identified the fish. My uncle, though, recognized it as a warmouth, and he said it was a big one. Well, turns out it was large enough to qualify for Master Angler Class for the state, and Dad did catch-and-release, taking the relevant photos. He won't admit it, but I could tell when he was telling me, that he was pretty excited about that. When I looked it up, there were only 15 entries in the program for this species since 1994, and his was tied for the largest since 2008.
I thought it would be cool to do something for him, and get him a replica mount, based off of the photos. I want to surprise him, so I'm having to sneak around a little. This place is a great resource. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone here in Texas that may be able to do this for me? I'm starting some other research myself, and I'll start with quotes when I get some names.
Thanks, everyone!
