Being that we all live in Texas, I know surfer are a rare breed here but like myself, I tred our dirty brown water (sometimes clear on a good storm and great swells). I know like maybe 3 and 2 of them I surf with every weekend. trying to get a bigger group because a lot of the younger guys are quite lil *****!

It really not all that hard. I do have to say if you start, get an appropriate sized board for youself or a little bigger. I let my brother inlaw try and learn on a 8' foam and it's about 18" wide so it's a bit harder to pop on vs my 8'2"x20" board. he says he has trouble all the time with it but still tries

Long board works better with small surf in Galveston. I heard the surf and the beach is much better in Corpus or South Padres.010G Long fin BN grow-out

on a 2-3 day in galveston, I can bust out my weirdo ripper (short board hybrid) and can throw my fins out a bit. I usuall ride my 8ft fun board so I can do either. padre a d corpus are generally pretty far it's more of a "plan ahead of time" trip. though you gotta time it right because r
surf changes hourly.
